Hello there! I am Federico Florindo, a freelance designer and illustrator from Rome, Italy. My work is driven by an enduring love for material culture and all its magnificent diversity.

Since 2017 I have been working alongside cultural institutions, good businesses and sympathetic thinkers to craft meaningful visual products. Among the things I have been fortunate enough to design through the years there are: books and brochures, illustrated maps, visual identities, sets of icons, museum displays, websites, and a typeface (sic). I firmly believe that care and attention to detail are remarkable forces for good.

My sheer enthusiasm for human-made objects and their interconnections has been the driving force towards and throughout my professional journey — and the motivation behind my academic studies in ancient iconography and material semiotics.

In June 2022 I started developing Illusthings, a novel process for depicting artifacts through vector illustration. I have been refining it ever since, and it is now mature enough to provide the foundation of a rather ambitious Swift design project I am quietly carrying out. It is quite a lot of fun.

Stazionario, a new initiative I am art directing, was publicly presented in February 2024. It is a collaborative undertaking that aims at documenting and sharing, through illustration, objects and stories connected to a century-old railway station in Central Italy. You can learn more about it by visiting stazionario.org.

I would love to collaborate on the next great project of yours. For any work inquiries please send me an e-mail at idea@federicoflorindo.com, I’ll be looking forward to hearing from you. I somewhat intermittently share updates about things I am working on Instagram, Twitter and Threads. That’s about it for now — thank you for visiting my website!

Yours truly,
Federico
